1. A Quiet, Creepy, Thoughtful Experience
Omar is clear: this is not your average graphic novel. Its slower, more meditativeand all the more unsettling for it.
Sometimes youre like there needs to be more action here. And thats because these are events that have been recorded through time it feels more like a documentary that Im watchingjust in a comic book format. Theyre not adding anything extra. Theyre just retelling actual accounts.
2. The Betty and Barney Hill Case Hits Home
Omar shares his own childhood obsession with UFOs, and you can feel his emotional connection to the source materialespecially the retelling of the Hills abduction.
Its the first widely publicized alien abduction case. I was obsessed with this story for such a long time When I was a kid, I got to see a flying saucerand apparently something very similar happened to James Tynion. Thats why hes so infatuated with these stories.
3. Gorgeous Presentation with a Sense of Purpose
While the content matches the original trades, Omar praises the oversized format and extrasnot just for aesthetic reasons, but for enhancing the eerie atmosphere.
Every time I forget just how thick the glossy paper stock is it really helps to have just this blue tone right here. Kind of like the blue book, right? It adds so much to the mood. This is one I hope they keep collecting.
